Night Dial Notes: Stargazing is built to work entirely under your own roof, or your own open sky. It does not collect, store or share any data. Everything you enter stays on your device.
We collect nothing. Your location coordinates, telescope details, sky darkness, session notes, sketches and Messier progress are used on your device to build your plan and are never sent to us or anyone else.
Since we hold no information, we cannot use, analyze, profile or sell it. The data you enter is used only to compute tonight's targets and to display your own observing log.
Sessions, sketches and notes are stored locally on your phone or tablet. There is no cloud sync and no remote server holding a copy of your observing history.
The app includes no third-party analytics, advertising networks, trackers or social plug-ins. Nothing in it phones home.
Because all calculations, sketches and logs stay on the device, they are protected by your device's own security. There is no transmission to intercept and no account to breach.
The app is friendly to young astronomers and consistent with COPPA principles. We collect no personal information from anyone, including children.
You hold every key. There are no accounts to close. To erase all of your sessions, sketches and notes, simply delete the app from your device.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new effective date. Our core commitment, that your data stays with you, will not change.
